ITR filing deadline extended to Sept 15: Belated and revised returns open till Dec 31 for AY 2025-26

You can still file belated or revised returns by Dec 31, but late fees and interest apply. Audit cases get time till Oct 31, and transfer pricing cases till Nov 30. Updated returns are open till Mar 31, 2030. Over 6 crore ITRs are already in; filings may hit 8 crore.
